Here For Convenience(Not Really!)

As the title suggests, I’m going to be talking about lack of commitment, a rather common trait in today’s generation. Many people never truly commit to anything and so they’re never joined to anything. They’re not fully invested in whatever they do.

You see, when you look at how successful people or entities got to where they are, where you can see them and admire them, it is not out of sheer luck or coincidence. In fact, a fool and his money are soon parted. Basically, what I’m trying to say here is that the ones that get into things for convenience, never truly succeed at them.

Relationships demand commitment, education demands it, and so does parenting, running a business or even things like losing weight.
Unfortunately, many people are doing things because they’re convenient for them. And so they live a life of mediocrity till they die.

Imagine you go through school without giving it your 100% because you don’t really enjoy it, then you get employed but you don’t love the job and so you never give it your all. Because life is fair, you start your own small business, but even that is too tasking for you and so it never receives your all.

Amidst all this, you’re dating and your relationships never work out because apparently, ‘no one understands or loves you for who you are.’ Admittedly, you never reciprocate what life gives you. The chances you get are taken for granted. But no, it is never your fault that sciences where difficult and arts subjects were boring too. That your boss was/is mean to you and you feel suffocated at your workplace.

That your business is not situated in the lucrative center and the people that date you are just bad people.

The question is, is everything out to get you and you are with no blemish? Do you reciprocate what you are given in relationships? Do you give your all when it comes to commitment?

You cannot have true relationship without reciprocity.

You cannot get into relationships to get and not give. Be it school, or work, or even love relationships. You have to give and get in return. What are you offering to get what you want?

Life is not here for your convenience. As a matter of fact, you’re just one of billions of the same species of beings. A species that is one of billions of other species on a planet that is one of billions. You get the picture I’m trying to portray?

That there’s a Grand Designer of this life(whom I call God) and that things cannot and do not run for your convenience.

My point for all this rumbling today is to tell you that although you are special, special is relative, do something with your life. Effect change. The world is in a state were all effort is needed right now. What with the COVID-19 pandemic, lockdowns and economic downturns, what will be your place in all this? Because things are really not going to be the same again.
