“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24, KJV
1. To want; to wish for earnestly.
2. To put a request to (someone); to entreat.
3. To require; to demand; to claim.
This year has been incredibly tough on most of us and I’ll admit that things are not going to normalize any time soon. The dawn of a “new normal” is being preached left, right and center even though for many a person, they just want to have food for today and be assured that a meal will be provided tomorrow.
I could give statistics to show how much suffering is happening now but for many of us, you just have to watch the news or listen to stories being told and realize how tough it is out there for people.
Perhaps even more so than it is for yourself.
I have friends that have lost jobs, those that have been abused by their spouses and have had to leave their children behind sometimes for their own safety, I know of people that have had to forego meals on some days. So many stories and many of them near me.
The most outrageous is one where an entire village(in fact several of them) of close to a thousand families was asked to vacate their homes.
Whatever happens overmorrow or the next year, many don’t know.
Now in such circumstances, it is very easy for us to lose faith, to give up. Some may even fall a depression, some men may run away from their families as it has happened already in some cases.
However, in all this, we cannot afford to lose something that is very vital in our lives. Positive desire. In essence, here I mean faith that things will be better.
When we lose that, we stop trying. When we lose the power of positive desire, we stop going out of our comfort zones to hustle, we stop dreaming big.
Our hope is shattered. We even stop praying. Alarmingly, we stop demanding what is rightfully ours!
You see, there are things that are rightfully ours. This whole world is ours to dominate as seen in Genesis and you cannot dominate when you no longer have the zeal. Dominion takes courage, it takes a lot of effort, it takes the desire for better.
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” Genesis 1:28, KJV
And so as we come out of this sabbatical(even though a forced one), choose to desire positively, choose to do better, to pray better, to know more, to do those things that will bring you closer to your positive desires.
Let Dorothy say something too:
Kudos! Rogers, I couldn’t have said it any better.
“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he” Proverbs 23:7
We have to know that whatever thoughts we indulge in us have an effect in our lives. Whether mentally, physically as regards to the people that surround us too and how we relate with them.
Do you ever have negative energy about something and perhaps you get to a point where you can no longer see good in anything? Anyway, happens sometimes and negative energy brings no good in anything because we can no longer believe and hope for the good.
Just like Rogers said, when we lose positive desire, we stop going out of our comfort zones to hustle and see something workout.
This is so because we have lost hope that thing scan eventually happen in our lives, and what happens when we think this way.
Because we have surrounded ourselves with negativity, we can never believe they will come our way and even if we had the opportunities to bring them forth to us we wouldn’t. Meaning even if they came to us, we would never realize it. They are nonexistent to us because we don’t believe they can happen. We have to learn to believe in order to receive.
It’s hard to create real value in our lives if we can never create that positive desire. What value can we attach ourselves too if we don’t hope for better, if we never desire for good. If God has in us sowed seeds of greatness, who are we to think bad of lives.
Truthfully bad things happen and they won’t stop but the best we can do is to always see good in every situation instead of losing hope.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him ,whohavebeen called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28, NIV
If only we would understand the outcome of what is created in our mind, never would we desire to have a negative desire slide into out thoughts. We create what we always think about.
